A global consultancy that leads the world in energy market modelling is building a new Data Processing Platform.

Its modellers use it to forecast how energy systems will change over the next 50+ years, working with everything from academic research to terabytes of hourly scenario data.

The MVP is about to go live, and the platform will be rolled out across the UK, US, Australia and Asia.

They're looking for a senior software engineer to help shape what comes next.

The role

Core member of a small platform team, sharing architecture and design with the Engineering Lead

  • End-to-end ownership, from system design through to delivery
  • Build the platform's integrations, pipelines and shared tooling, mostly back end, on a Databricks-based platform
  • Design and improve CI/CD so quality, reliability and observability are built in from the start
  • Work directly with energy modellers and non-technical stakeholders to understand what they need

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
