Senior Software Engineer (Frontend)
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) based in United Kingdom.
Join a fully remote product engineering team building web experiences used by more than 11 million people worldwide.
You’ll take ownership of user-facing features from technical design through implementation and release, with a strong influence on the final product experience.
The role combines deep frontend engineering with close collaboration across Product and Design to turn complex workflows into intuitive experiences.
You’ll help shape frontend architecture, improve performance and reliability, and evolve the platform as it continues to scale.
Working in a small, collaborative team, you’ll have significant autonomy over technical decisions and opportunities to influence product direction.

Accountabilities
- Build, maintain, and evolve user-facing features across web-based products used by a global audience.
- Design and implement frontend architecture, reusable UI components, and business logic for new and existing functionality.
- Partner closely with Product and Design teams to transform complex requirements and workflows into simple, intuitive user experiences.
- Take end-to-end ownership of features, from technical discovery and design through implementation, testing, and release.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and overall code quality.
- Improve frontend reliability, maintainability, scalability, and performance as the platform grows.
- Identify technical and product opportunities and explore new technologies that can improve the user experience or engineering environment.
- Contribute to architectural and technical decisions while balancing product requirements, usability, maintainability, and delivery needs.
- Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a highly autonomous environment.
- Help shape the broader direction and quality of the product beyond individual tickets or assigned tasks.

Requirements
- Strong professional experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Deep production experience with React and modern frontend architecture.
- Strong understanding of modern ECMAScript standards and browser technologies.
- Experience working with frontend state management systems and scalable application architectures.
- Practical experience with CSS preprocessors such as LESS or SASS.
- Sufficient backend knowledge to work comfortably with Node.js, REST APIs, and relational or NoSQL databases.
- Experience working in modern engineering environments involving technologies such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and continuous deployment.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, frontend performance, maintainability, and reliability.
- High attention to product quality, user experience, and implementation details.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make sound technical decisions with limited oversight.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: proactive, pragmatic, and comfortable taking responsibility for outcomes.
- Curiosity and a continuous-learning mindset, with an interest in understanding systems deeply and finding ways to improve them.
- Empathy toward users and teammates, combined with a constructive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Experience with additional programming languages or broader full-stack development is a plus.
