About The Role

The Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) at CGI plays a vital role in designing, developing, and deploying secure, scalable, and high-quality full stack applications that support critical client services. This position involves taking ownership of the entire development lifecycle, from initial architecture and user experience design to deployment and ongoing optimization. The role requires a collaborative mindset, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to translate ideas into impactful digital solutions. Candidates will have the opportunity to work within a flexible hybrid working model, with on-site requirements varying based on project needs. Due to the sensitive nature of some projects, holding or being eligible for UK Security Clearance is essential.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong full stack engineering experience with proficiency in both front-end and back-end technologies. A solid understanding of modern development practices, security, and scalable solutions within Agile environments is essential. Key qualifications include:

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Engineer
  • Expertise in TypeScript and Java or Python
  • Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative working style
  • Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements

Responsibilities

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing end-to-end full stack applications that are secure, reliable, and scalable
  • Developing and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices to support client needs
  • Enhancing responsive user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks
  • Developing cloud-native solutions across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Ensuring high-quality output through rigorous testing and adherence to security best practices
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate business and user requirements into technical solutions
  • Implementing CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
  • Continuously improving application performance and reliability to meet evolving client expectations
