Are you a skilled Software Engineer with deep Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise and a passion for building scalable cloud-native solutions? We are partnering with one of the world's leading professional services organisations to deliver innovative technology solutions that support large-scale enterprise transformation programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing cloud engineering team, working on complex, business-critical platforms while influencing cloud strategy, architecture, and engineering best practices across a global environment.
The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will act as a trusted technical leader within an Agile engineering environment, helping to design, build, and operate modern cloud-native platforms on Google Cloud. You'll work closely with engineering teams, architects, and stakeholders to drive technical excellence, improve platform reliability, and shape cloud adoption strategies across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop secure, scalable, cloud-native applications and services on GCP.
- Lead architectural discussions and produce technical design documentation, including RFCs and architecture diagrams.
- Drive operational excellence through observability, monitoring, performance optimisation, and reliability improvements.
- Build and operate highly available Kubernetes-based platforms and services.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Champion engineering best practices across CI/CD, infrastructure automation, security, and software delivery.
- Contribute to enterprise cloud transformation initiatives and platform engineering strategies.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations that align with business and technology objectives.

Iβm in my final year doing Economics and I donβt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer β it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donβt need a masters. Letβs look at the ones youβd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
