Senior Software Engineer (Go) | Cloud, Kubernetes & AI | London, Hybrid

We're partnered with a leading global engineering firm, delivering flagship transformation programmes for some of the world's largest financial institutions. This is an opportunity to join a high-calibre engineering team building the next generation of cloud-native platforms, developer tooling, and AI-enabled solutions that will be adopted at global scale.

You'll work on complex engineering challenges, creating reusable platforms, libraries, and architectural blueprints that empower hundreds of engineers across a large enterprise environment. This is a role for engineers who enjoy solving difficult problems, influencing technical direction, and working at the forefront of modern software engineering.

📍London, hybrid working - at least one day per week on-site

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building scalable backend services and platform components using Go and other modern technologies
  • Designing and developing cloud-native applications and distributed systems
  • Creating reusable engineering blueprints and developer platforms
  • Driving best practices around software architecture, security, and platform engineering
  • Working with Kubernetes and containerised environments at scale
  • Helping shape the adoption of Generative AI and LLM technologies within a highly regulated environment
  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams across a global organisation
  • Influencing technical strategy and engineering standards

Essentials for this Role:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong commercial experience with Go (Golang)
  • Experience building distributed systems and microservices architectures
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes and containerisation technologies
  • Strong cloud experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Exposure to platform engineering, developer tooling, or internal platforms
  • Experience working within complex enterprise environments
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions

Highly Desirable Experience:

  • Working experience with Terraform in IaC, CI/CD, and DevOps Practices
  • Helm, Kafka, Vault
  • MongoDB, Postgres, Prometheus
  • Exposure to (or commercial experience with) AI, Machine Learning, or Large Language Model (LLM) platforms
