About The Role

Tempcover is currently undertaking an overhaul of its systems to modernise and help us power the next generation of our technology. We are looking for a Senior Engineer who can bring experience to help shape this journey, working in a role with ownership, empowerment, and impact.

Each engineer plays an integral role in the development, delivery, maintenance, and support of our insurance-based systems, both public-facing and internal.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Effectively evolve, enhance, and modernise large-scale systems to enable rapid adaptability and continuous improvement
  • Drive the adoption of technologies like Go
  • Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of our systems
  • Develop and drive automation for deployment, monitoring, and scaling of infrastructure. Build tools and processes to enable continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD)
  • Make data-guided decisions that impact core business metrics and processes
  • Solid understanding of platform and reliability engineering approaches, including observability, performance optimisation, capturing analytics, and security best practices
  • Facilitate collaboration between teams and build a culture of continuous improvement
  • Mentor more junior engineers, providing guidance on engineering best practices, coding standards, and troubleshooting.

What We're Looking For

The highest level of proficiency developing applications using most of the following:

  • Strong Golang knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of AWS products like Lambdas, DynamoDB, etc but also comfortable in Azure and Azure devops environments
  • Containerisation and IaC approach (Terraform, SST are definitely a plus)
  • A good understanding of development methodologies and design patterns
  • C# ASP.NET,.Net Core also a plus but not necessary
  • Cloudflare
  • Experience with React, Typescript, Astro and NodeJS are definitely a plus.
