SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 (dependent on experience)
Enfield, North London – Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days from home)
C++ / Visual Studio 2022 / Python / PowerShell

THE ROLE
An established engineering business is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Engineering Software Team on a permanent basis. You'll take ownership of software designs from initial specification all the way through to verified, production-ready code — bringing expert knowledge of software design, test and verification to new and existing products alike. It's a genuinely hands-on senior role with scope to shape innovative products and mentor the engineers around you.

Based in North London, they have a strong reputation for innovation and set the international standard in their field. THE SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE
- Apply strong engineering practice to produce software for new, innovative and profitable products and solutions
- Take responsibility for the specification, design, implementation, testing and maintenance of software supporting the company's products and services
- Support and enhance existing software in line with commercial requirements
- Take projects through the full software development lifecycle
- Provide support, advice and mentoring to less experienced colleagues, acting as a role model for junior staff
- Act as a technical point of liaison with customers, suppliers and collaborators on software matters
- Undertake additional project tasks as required

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Excellent understanding of C++
- Proven experience taking projects through the software development lifecycle
- Good understanding of Microsoft Visual Studio (2022/2026)
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- A good degree in a relevant subject
Desirable:
- Experience with GUI/UX or HCI
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell)
