We're modernising how frontline teams work, replacing scattered tools and outdated systems with a single app that's actually built for the way people work & socialise today. Our AI Colleague gives staff instant answers & executes day-to-day tasks, freeing up managers to focus on people & customers instead of paperwork. We work with some of the most exciting brands in hospitality and retail, including Gail's, L'Osteria, Dishoom, Pizza Pilgrims, Ottolenghi, Q8 and 7-Eleven. Today over 2,000 restaurants and stores trust us to run their teams.
We've grown 10x in two years and are accelerating into new markets. Our team spans a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds, united by one mission: to create better work lives for the 80% of the world that do not sit behind a desk. π
π€© About the role
We are looking for an ambitious Senior Software Engineer who will be a pivotal member of building and scaling the most critical parts of our product. This is a role for someone who has already made AI a core part of how they work. The kind of person who spots the problem worth solving and doesn't wait for permission to go after it. You're a builder who loves the pace of a startup or scale-up, where things move fast and ownership is real. As a Senior Engineer here, you won't just be maintaining a critical system, you'll be shaping how AI transforms what it can do.
π― What You Will Do
The ideal candidate possesses a versatile skill set, demonstrating capability across the entire spectrum of software development at All Gravy.
- AI-Native Development: A versatile understanding of how to leverage AI in your day-to-day development workflow. The best candidates are top-tier at working with AI tools, can demonstrate concrete ways they've integrated them into how they ship code, and actively contribute back to how the wider team adopts and improves its AI-assisted ways of working.
- Full-Stack Development: You will take ownership of features across the full application stack from the manager and employee-facing interfaces where schedules are built and shifts are picked up, to the robust, scalable back-end services and data layers that power them.
- Hands-On Technical Approach: Comfortable reading and writing code (ideally TypeScript/Node.js, given our stack), reviewing architecture, and working directly with infrastructure. You can ship a fix, not just file a ticket.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with our product teams to ensure everything integrates harmoniously across the All Gravy ecosystem, and contribute to shared standards and architectural decisions.

Iβm in my final year doing Economics and I donβt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer β it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donβt need a masters. Letβs look at the ones youβd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
