Senior Software Engineer – C#/.NET

📍 Reading | Hybrid (2 days onsite / 3 days WFH)

💰 £70,000 - £80,000

We're working with a client in Reading who is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help drive both the technical direction and the day-to-day delivery of their engineering team. This is a true 50/50 role; you'll be helping lead, mentoring and shaping how the team works, while staying genuinely hands-on with code, architecture and CI/CD.

If you've got deep C#/.NET experience, a strong handle on CI/CD pipelines, and you're ready to take ownership of both people and product, we want to hear from you.

Leadership & Mentoring

  • Provide technical leadership and day-to-day direction for a mixed-experience team of engineers, from junior through to senior
  • Mentor and coach developers at all levels through code reviews, pairing and 1:1s, tailoring your approach to where each person is in their career
  • Support the development of junior and mid-level engineers while giving senior engineers room to grow into more autonomous, high-impact work
  • Set and uphold engineering standards, coding practices and definition of done
  • Own planning and prioritisation, balancing feature delivery against technical debt
  • Act as the technical escalation point, translating complex issues for non-technical stakeholders
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding and the ongoing growth of the team
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
