The Opportunity
Kargo is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our multidisciplinary in-app ad delivery team, spanning client-side and server-side engineering across multiple technology stacks, frameworks, and languages. This role will help lead the In-App team in delivering net-new integrations that maximize in-app revenue at Kargo—working on systems that handle billions of ad requests and help clients deliver and make informed decisions from millions of ads.

The Daily To-Do
- Take ownership of key In-App initiatives and ship against the product roadmap, driving in-app projects on the team and across Kargo
- Launch net-new in-app integrations to maximize in-app revenue, iterating and innovating on in-app ad delivery, measurement, and management across a variety of technology stacks
- Establish stable, dedicated engineering ownership for In-App ad delivery—building redundancy and technical depth so development, maintenance, and production support have sustainable coverage
- Improve the reliability and maintainability of In-App and video ad delivery, quickly identifying technical debt, operational risks, and recurring support issues and driving them toward resolution
- Provide dedicated engineering support for Online Video (OLV), ensuring emerging maintenance, feature, and production needs have clear ownership
- Strengthen knowledge sharing and documentation across the stack, making In-App and OLV systems easier for the broader team to support
- Collaborate across the full lifecycle of full-stack development—from ideation to delivery of high-quality, best-in-class capabilities that give our team and customers an edge in the market
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role, with experience leading teams and initiatives
- A background developing client- and server-side solutions in ad tech
- Strong command of a major modern programming language (we work with Golang, JavaScript/NodeJS, PHP, and Python, but direct experience with these isn't required)
- Proficiency with AI tools and workflows, plus a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, including QA and deployment processes
- Comfort working directly with business stakeholders to define, prioritize, and deliver against evolving requirements
- Experience querying large datasets to understand trends, optimize delivery, and troubleshoot issues; comfortable pairing and giving and receiving code reviews
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Apache Airflow, Dockerized Kubernetes environments) is a plus
