Senior Software Engineer – Contract
Location: Remote – with monthly travel to Bristol and London
Daily Rate: £550-£600 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6 Months
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a leading digital consultancy delivering a major digital transformation programme. Working within an agile engineering squad, you'll design, build and deliver scalable, secure cloud-based solutions while working closely with architects, engineers and product teams.
Key Responsibilities as a Senior Software Engineer
- Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality software solutions using Python and AWS.
- Support discovery activities, technical analysis and backlog refinement.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers and product teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Participate in peer code reviews and promote engineering best practice.
- Contribute to CI/CD and continuous delivery practices.
- Troubleshoot application issues and support incident response and root cause analysis.
- Support Programme Increment planning, estimation and dependency management.
- Continuously improve engineering processes, tooling and development practices.
- Support the integration of cloud and platform services, including Amazon Connect where applicable.

Experience you'll need as a Senior Software Engineer
- Strong commercial experience with Python and the full software development lifecycle.
- Strong experience with AWS and cloud-based application development.
- Experience designing and developing scalable, maintainable and secure applications.
- Experience working within Agile engineering environments.
- Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong experience with testing, code reviews and software quality.
