Role Overview

Ebury is seeking exceptional and highly motivated software engineers to join our engineering division in London. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Identity team from your first day, contributing to mission-critical projects.

As a Senior Engineer, you will have significant responsibility, agency, and ownership of large, mission-critical services, products, and platforms. Location: London Office Working model: Hybrid (4 days in the office, 1 day working from home)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable software solutions for Ebury’s global financial platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product managers, designers, engineers) to deliver robust features and products
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle—from ideation and technical design to deployment and maintenance
  • Contribute to technical discussions and architectural design reviews, shaping our technology stack
  • Uphold and enhance engineering best practices through code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD principles
  • Leverage AI tools to augment skills and deliver responsible solutions—tainting understanding of all developed code

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline (strong academic record preferred)
  • 7+ years of production-grade software engineering experience (though competency, attitude, and focus matter most)
  • Fintech or financial services industry experience
  • Proficiency in core computer science principles—data structures, algorithms, software design, complexity analysis
  • Production-level coding ability in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, Go)
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with an ability to approach complex challenges methodically
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Desirable Attributes (Not mandatory but highly beneficial)

  • Experience building identity and access management (IAM) platforms, fine-grained access control (FGAC) systems, or defining authorization policies
  • Familiarity with advanced authentication techniques (e.g., device binding, attestation) and unifying fragmented user identities
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a technical portfolio demonstrating expertise
  • Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), layered architecture, and cross-team communication
