The role
As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence across one of our product development teams. You will lead the technical direction of projects, ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions, while providing guidance, mentorship, and support to engineers across the team. The role may also include line management responsibilities for less experienced team members.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Lead Technical Projects: Oversee the design and implementation of key projects, delivering innovative solutions that align with business goals and customer needs.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with Product Managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and resources, providing expert technical guidance.
- Drive Engineering Excellence: Create high-quality, efficient code, uphold coding standards through code reviews and contribute to strategic initiatives and standards through the Technical Authority Group.
- Mentor and Develop Team Members: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, mentoring others and assisting in hiring and onboarding new talent.
- Influence Technical Direction: Play a key role in strategic technical decisions, promoting the adoption of new technologies and processes to enhance product functionality and performance.
- Own Deliverables: Take responsibility for products and features developed by the team, ensuring successful deployment and ongoing support.

What you'll bring to this role
- Extensive Technical Leadership Experience: Proven experience in technical leadership or senior software development roles with strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Technical Experience: Extensive experience with Python and cloud based environments
- Product Focus: A product engineering mindset and focus on business impacts of technical efforts
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to lead diverse teams and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Agile Methodologies Familiarity: Knowledge of agile practices and project management techniques.

- Frameworks: Vue.js, Django Rest Framework, Container-based and Serverless architectures

- DevOps and Monitoring: CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Celery, EventBridge and DataDog
