About The Role

As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will make an impact by designing and delivering robust, scalable web applications and microservices-based solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, security, and performance. You will be a valued member of our engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, architects, graphic designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to design, launch, and continuously improve innovative digital products.

In This Role, You Will

  • Develop and implement tasks and components of projects in line with client requirements, writing zero-defect code and comprehensive unit test cases to ensure first-time-right delivery within defined timelines, security, and performance guidelines.
  • Design the overall architecture of web applications, applying microservices principles and established design patterns to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Develop and maintain business layer coding, interface development, service development, and stored procedures, raising issues proactively and seeking peer review to continuously improve output quality.
  • Write and execute unit test cases, capture and resolve defects, and support integration and automation testing throughout development, SIT, UAT, and warranty phases.
  • Understand, interpret, and clarify both functional and technical requirements; provide effort and timeline estimates for assigned tasks; and support proof-of-concept development with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and highlight potential risks to technical leads in a timely manner; support the integration of components; maintain traceability matrices; and adhere to SCM policies, process tools, and Quality Management System standards.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers to convert designs into polished visual elements, and contribute to the implementation of security and data protection measures across the application.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of knowledge assets, including user manuals, installation scripts, and online documentation; actively contribute to and reuse assets from the team repository.
  • Provide ideas for process optimization and value-add initiatives, sharing them with relevant stakeholders while promoting adherence to tools such as Cognizant 2.0 and established IDE standards.
  • Improve core technical skills on an ongoing basis, keeping pace with evolving technology landscapes including Gen AI tooling, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
