About The Job
We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Product, Design, and Engineering organisation and help shape the future of spend management.
You will join our KYC squad, helping build reliable, scalable, and user-friendly experiences for customer onboarding, verification, and compliance. This role is primarily backend-focused, with an expected split of approximately 70% backend and 30% frontend.
You will take ownership of functional and technical topics across the full feature lifecycle, from discovery and specification through technical design, development, testing, documentation, deployment, and maintenance.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will also help shape the squad’s technical direction, lead initiatives, support strong engineering practices, and contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.
Our Stack
- TypeScript (Node/React)
- PostgreSQL for data storage
- Redis, SQS, and Kafka for jobs, messaging, and queues
- Terraform to define our infrastructure
- Kubernetes, Lambdas, and Step Functions to run our applications
- AWS, GitHub Actions, Claude Code, and LLM-assisted workflows
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain reliable backend services and workflows for KYC and customer onboarding.
- Contribute to frontend development with React, representing approximately 30% of the role.
- Own complex technical and functional topics throughout the full feature lifecycle.
- Define and evolve robust architectures, applying principles such as hexagonal architecture and clear domain boundaries.
- Lead technical initiatives from discovery and design through implementation, delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Build maintainable, performant, observable, and well-tested software.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, Compliance, Operations, and other stakeholders.
- Use AI-assisted development tools daily, share effective practices, and help promote responsible usage across engineering.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
