Role Overview
We are seeking a versatile, experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our IT Department. This role is suited to someone who enjoys working across a range of technologies and legacy systems, as well as modern platforms, and can confidently switch between different languages and codebases.
You will support, enhance, and evolve a portfolio of business-critical applications built in technologies including Java, C#, JavaScript, and PHP. You may also contribute to modernisation initiatives, including migrating selected applications towards our preferred technology stack (Spring Boot / React), improving maintainability, performance, and scalability. As part of our engineering culture, we provide and actively encourage the use of modern AI tooling — including AI coding assistants and large language models — to accelerate development, support legacy code comprehension, and improve productivity across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with stakeholders and internal teams to gather requirements and translate them into reliable technical solutions.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain internal and customer-facing applications across multiple languages and frameworks.
- Support and troubleshoot existing systems, diagnosing issues and delivering fixes in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the ongoing modernisation of our application landscape, including migrations to Spring Boot / React where appropriate.
- Build and maintain integrations with internal and external services (APIs, data sources, authentication, etc.).
- Collaborate with UK, US, and IN technical teams to deliver consistent solutions and share knowledge.
- Promote good engineering practices including clean code, code reviews, documentation, and appropriate testing.
- Work with cloud and on-prem environments, supporting deployments, stability, and performance.
- Utilise the latest in AI technology to accelerate development, support debugging, and improve code quality across our applications.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
