Software Engineer – Digital Assets

London Office | Highly Competitive Salary + Significant Performance Bonus | Tier 1 Trading Firm

About the Opportunity

We're partnered with a leading global technology-driven trading firm that is expanding its presence in the digital assets space.

The Digital Assets Technology team is building and evolving the systems that support cryptocurrency trading across global markets. You'll work closely with experienced traders and quantitative researchers, translating trading ideas and market insights into reliable, high-performance production systems.

This is an opportunity to join a growing platform where you'll have genuine influence over the technology, architecture, and engineering practices as the digital assets business continues to scale.

You'll work in a fast-moving environment where technology has a direct impact on trading performance, reliability, and the firm's ability to respond to rapidly changing markets.

The Role

As a Software Engineer within the Digital Assets team, you'll design, build, and operate trading systems supporting cryptocurrency markets.

You'll work closely with traders and researchers to prototype new ideas, develop exchange connectivity, improve system resilience, and continuously evolve the underlying digital assets platform.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing trading systems for digital asset markets
  • Building and maintaining connectivity to major centralised cryptocurrency exchanges
  • Working directly with traders and quantitative researchers to prototype and iterate on trading strategies
  • Translating ambiguous trading requirements and market insights into practical engineering solutions
  • Improving system reliability through automation, monitoring, testing, and robust recovery mechanisms
  • Troubleshooting production issues across trading systems and exchange integrations
  • Contributing to the architecture and continued development of the digital assets platform
  • Taking ownership of production systems and driving continuous technical improvements
  • Working closely with other engineers to establish strong engineering practices as the platform grows

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
