About Us:

ClearRoute is an engineering consultancy bridging Quality Engineering, Cloud Platforms and Developer Experience. We help enterprises reliably bring high-impact digital products to market faster, cheaper, and safer, working with technology leaders facing complex business challenges.

We take as much pride in our people, culture and work-life balance as we do in making better software. We’re not just making better software. We’re making the making of software better. Collaborative, entrepreneurial and dedicated to problem solving, we bring the step change our customer need to sustain innovation. Our values challenge us to do the best we can for ClearRoute, our customers and most importantly our team. This is an opportunity for you to build the organisation from the ground up, use your voice to drive change and help transform organisations and problem domains.

Role:

Join a small team building our SDLC Policy-as-Code capability for our clients core technology estate. You'll build and operate the services that sit between our engineering tools, GitHub Enterprise Cloud and Azure DevOps, and the control estate: capturing evidence as software changes flow through the delivery lifecycle, evaluating that evidence against codified policy, and returning reliable allow/deny decisions at the point of deployment.

The work is event-driven and API-led: inbound webhooks from GitHub and Azure DevOps, outbound REST calls to those platforms and to compliance systems, all mediated by an API gateway and authenticated with short-lived credentials. It integrates with our emerging Continuous Compliance Framework (CCF) infrastructure, providing point-in-time yes/no decisions along with a full audit trail.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Integration engineering: Design, build and operate the REST APIs, webhook receivers and API clients connecting GitHub and Azure DevOps to policy evaluation and evidence storage. Own the contract: payload shapes, auth flows, idempotency, retries, timeouts and failure semantics.
  • Policy-as-code and release governance: Develop and maintain services that ingest evidence, evaluate compliance policy, and provide reliable allow/deny decisions for sensitive actions such as release and deployment.
  • Software development: Build clean, modular, tested and maintainable services using modern engineering practices: pull-request workflows, automated testing, REST APIs, event-driven and serverless design, and strong documentation.
  • Security, risk and audit by design: Treat operational, security, audit, risk and compliance requirements as first-class design inputs, not after-delivery review points.

Required Experience:

  • Strong C# experience on.NET 10 (Azure Functions isolated worker v4, Clean Architecture, TDD)
  • Solid experience with Azure. Familiarity with Python is beneficial, as other parts of the Policy-as-Code infrastructure are Python-based.
  • Good understanding of the modern SDLC and strong integration engineering experience.
  • Ability to build clean, tested, maintainable services.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Compliance Frameworks is a plus, though not essential.
