Senior Software Engineer
Position: Senior Software Engineer
Type: Contract
Compensation: $100–$150/hour
Location: Remote
About the Opportunity
This opportunity is for experienced Senior Software Engineers with expertise in software architecture, backend development, distributed systems, system design, performance optimization, and scalable application development to contribute to advanced AI research and evaluation projects. You'll apply your software engineering expertise to evaluate AI-generated code, solve complex engineering problems, and help improve the accuracy, reasoning, and performance of next-generation AI systems.
No prior AI experience is required. Your software engineering expertise and industry experience are the primary qualifications for success in this role. Professionals with backgrounds in backend engineering, full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, DevOps, or open-source software are especially encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software applications.
- Review and evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, maintainability, performance, and engineering best practices.
- Apply expertise in software architecture, debugging, feature development, code refactoring, and performance optimization.
- Solve complex software engineering challenges involving algorithms, distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-based applications.
- Develop and review automated testing strategies, CI/CD workflows, and system reliability improvements.
- Translate complex software engineering concepts into clear, structured documentation for AI training and evaluation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and code quality.
- Apply structured evaluation frameworks and engineering judgment to improve AI model performance.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Java, C++, Go, TypeScript, Rust, C#, or similar programming languages.
- Extensive experience with software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, databases, debugging, and scalable application development.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, system design, cloud computing, and performance optimization.
- Excellent analytical thinking, software engineering, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to technical detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building large-scale distributed systems or cloud-native applications.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects or maintaining an active GitHub portfolio.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, reinforcement learning, or AI model evaluation.
- Experience developing testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, or software quality assurance processes.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional or remote engineering teams.
Compensation
- Competitive compensation of $100–$150/hour.
