Your Career

Join MHR as a Senior Software Engineer and play a key role in shaping the next generation of our cloud-based HR and payroll platform. You'll design and deliver scalable solutions, solve complex technical challenges, and influence the engineering direction of products used by thousands of organisations across the UK and internationally.

This is an opportunity to combine hands-on software development with technical leadership, working with modern Microsoft technologies, AI-assisted development tools, and cloud-native architectures.

Your Team

You'll work within a collaborative, cross-functional Scrum team alongside Product Managers, UX Designers, Software Engineers, and Test Engineers. Our teams embrace shared ownership, continuous improvement, and high engineering standards. We are embracing AI across both our engineering practices and products. You'll have the opportunity to leverage tools such as GitHub Copilot while contributing to the development of intelligent capabilities within our SaaS platform.

Beyond delivering great software, you'll help mentor others, contribute to technical decision-making, and influence how we build, deploy, and operate software at scale.

Your Impact

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll take ownership of complex features and systems from design through to deployment. You'll contribute to architectural decisions, champion engineering best practices, and help drive improvements in quality, performance, security, and scalability.

Your work will directly influence product outcomes, customer experience, and the future direction of our platform, while helping to grow and support the engineers around you.

Technical Skills

  • Strong commercial experience developing software using C#,.NET and Angular (or similar modern JavaScript frameworks).
  • Experience building and supporting cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of API design, distributed systems, security, scalability and performance.
  • Experience applying unit testing, automated testing and CI/CD best practices.
  • Solid understanding of modern software engineering principles including SOLID, design patterns and clean architecture.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical leadership within a delivery team.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot would be advantageous.
