Senior Software Engineer (Token Factory)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Token Factory) based in United Kingdom.

Join an AI-focused R&D team building infrastructure for the next generation of large language models.

You’ll design and develop large-scale platforms that support LLM training and demanding AI workloads.

Your work will directly contribute to improving the performance, scalability, reliability, and efficiency of ML infrastructure.

You’ll tackle complex distributed-systems challenges, including intelligent job scheduling and resource optimization.

The environment is highly technical, fast-moving, and designed for engineers who enjoy solving difficult problems with real-world impact.

You’ll collaborate with talented international teams working at the intersection of applied research, software engineering, and AI.

Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, and continuously improve platforms supporting large-scale LLM training and AI workloads.
  • Build robust distributed systems capable of handling demanding computational requirements at scale.
  • Maintain and optimize ML infrastructure to ensure high performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Improve job scheduling strategies to reduce resource fragmentation and maximize infrastructure utilization.
  • Develop and maintain reliable web services and backend components supporting AI and ML workloads.
  • Apply strong software engineering practices throughout the development lifecycle, including testing, version control, CI/CD, and maintainable architecture.
  • Identify performance, scalability, and reliability challenges and implement effective technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate complex AI infrastructure requirements into production-ready systems.
  • Take ownership of technical decisions and maintain a high level of rigor across design, development, testing, and operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong track record of delivering production-quality systems.
  • Strong software engineering expertise, particularly with Python and/or Go.
  • Solid understanding of contemporary software development practices, including CI/CD, version control, automated testing, and unit testing.
  • Experience developing and operating web services and backend systems.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and high-load environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work rigorously and methodically on complex technical challenges.
  • Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced, or startup-like environments is highly valued.
  • Previous experience with language models, NLP, or related AI technologies is a strong advantage.
  • A track record of building and delivering products from concept through production is a plus.
  • Open-source projects or other technical work demonstrating strong engineering capabilities are welcome.
