Senior Software Engineer - Belfast

Belfast | Hybrid | 3 days in office

I'm working with a well-established technology company in Belfast that is continuing to grow its engineering team and invest in modern technology.

They're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team and work on the development of large-scale applications and services. This would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, likes solving complex technical problems and wants to have a real say in how solutions are designed and built.

What you'll be doing

  • Developing and improving large-scale software applications
  • Working across backend services with some full-stack exposure
  • Getting involved in technical design and architecture
  • Working with modern cloud and container technologies
  • Helping improve development practices and engineering standards
  • Working closely with other engineers, product and technical teams
  • Taking ownership of projects and seeing them through from idea to delivery
  • Supporting and mentoring other developers where appropriate

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why consider it?

This is a good opportunity for someone who wants more than just a coding role. You'll have the chance to own projects, influence technical decisions and work alongside a strong engineering team.
