Senior Software Engineer – TypeScript, Algorithms & Developer Tooling
£150,000 – £200,000 + package
London (Hybrid)
Most software engineers build applications.
This team builds the technology that thousands of other engineers use to build theirs.
We’re working with a highly successful developer tools company whose products are trusted by over 10,000 organisations worldwide, including many of the world’s largest financial institutions, technology businesses, and enterprise software providers.
Their DataGrid and charting products power mission-critical applications handling enormous volumes of data every day.
As the engineering team continues to grow, they’re looking for exceptional software engineers who enjoy solving difficult technical problems involving algorithms, performance, rendering, architecture, and large-scale data.
This is product engineering at its core.
You’ll be building the libraries themselves, not the applications that sit on top of them.

- Developing and optimising high-performance TypeScript libraries used globally
- Solving complex problems involving algorithms, data structures, recursion, and performance optimisation
- Working on rendering systems, large datasets, and real-time updates
- Building features across DataGrid, charting, and visualisation products
- Investigating browser behaviour, memory usage, and performance bottlenecks
- Taking features from design through to production release
- Influencing products used by thousands of engineering teams worldwide
What they’re looking for
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript engineering skills
- Excellent understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles
- Experience building complex systems rather than purely application-layer software
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of browser behaviour, rendering, and performance optimisation
- Exposure to statically typed languages such as C++, C#, Java, Rust, Go, or similar
- High standards around engineering quality, maintainability, and correctness
