🤖 AI-native product company

I'm working with a rapidly scaling AI product company that is looking for a Senior Product Engineer to join their engineering team and help shape the next stage of their platform.
About the Role
They're building an AI adoption platform that helps organisations move beyond AI experimentation and actually embed AI into how their teams work.
The product helps businesses understand where AI can genuinely improve workflows, build confidence across teams and measure meaningful adoption, rather than simply giving people access to another AI tool.
They've already achieved:
- Strong product-market validation with a growing user base and enterprise customers
- Backing from leading UK technology investors
- A proven platform with significant commercial traction
- Expansion into international markets
For a Senior Product Engineer, this is an opportunity to join at a stage where the product is already validated, but the engineering team is still small enough that you can have genuine influence.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Product Engineer, you'll work closely with Engineering, Product and Design to understand customer problems, shape solutions, make technical decisions and own features from initial idea through to production.
What You'll Be Building
The engineering challenges are varied and constantly evolving:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
- Building reliable AI-powered product experiences that help users adopt and get value from AI
- Designing and improving AI workflows, including evaluation, monitoring, tracing and iteration
- Developing personalisation and recommendation systems using individual, team and organisational context
- Solving complex data modelling, permissions and privacy challenges as enterprise adoption grows
- Improving platform architecture, reliability and performance as the user base scales
- Exploring emerging AI capabilities and deciding what creates genuine customer value versus what is simply hype
What Makes This Role Unique
You'll have ownership across the full product lifecycle.
As a Senior Product Engineer, you'll be involved in:
- Understanding customer problems and shaping what should be built
- Working directly with Product and Design to create intuitive user experiences
- Making pragmatic technical decisions across frontend, backend, APIs and data
- Building and shipping customer-facing features that directly impact users
- Improving engineering standards and ways of working as the team grows
- Using AI-native development practices to increase delivery speed without compromising quality
Requirements
They're looking for a Senior Product Engineer who:
- Has built and shipped substantial customer-facing products across frontend and backend
- Enjoys solving ambiguous problems and taking ownership beyond a defined ticket
- Thinks about the user and business outcome alongside the technical solution
- Has strong experience with a modern frontend framework such as React, Vue or Angular
- Has strong backend/API and relational database experience
- Can make sensible technical trade-offs and communicate decisions clearly
- Is excited about how AI is changing the way engineers build software

Tech Stack
The current stack includes:
- Frontend: Vue 3, TypeScript
- Backend: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Azure, GCP, Terraform, GitHub Actions, OpenTelemetry
You don't need experience with every technology above.
They are open to engineers coming from modern product stacks such as React, Node.js or other comparable frameworks. The priority is strong engineering fundamentals, experience building customer-facing products and the ability to make good technical decisions across the stack.
Why Join?
- 🚀 Real product impact - build features that directly influence how organisations adopt AI.
- 🏗️ Genuine ownership - influence product direction, architecture and engineering practices.
- 🤖 AI-native environment - work at a company where AI is both the product and part of how the team builds.
- 👥 High-calibre engineering team - collaborate with engineers who care about quality and craftsmanship.
- 💰 £80k-£120k + equity
- 📍 Hybrid setup: 1 day per week in their central London office
If you're a Senior Product Engineer who wants to stay hands-on, work on genuinely interesting AI product challenges and have meaningful influence while a company is still scaling, I'd love to hear from you.
