Your Impact
- Innovate: Design, build, and lead the technical direction of end-user features used by millions of people worldwide. Our team is focused on building AI features for the bleeding edge of collaboration, giving you the platform to shape the architecture of our next-generation systems.
- Lead by Example: Serve as a technical role model and mentor across the engineering team, setting a high bar for code quality, system testing, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Embrace AI-First Engineering: Champion the adoption of transformative AI technologies, establishing best practices that leverage these tools to accelerate the team's overall productivity and speed up the delivery of key customer features.
- DevOps & Microservices: Drive the scaling and operational strategy of our highly available microservice architecture, ensuring long-term system reliability and efficient deployment pipelines.
- Adaptable & Problem-Solver: Tackle complex, systemic, and varied technical challenges daily, demonstrating data-driven decision-making, clear handling of architectural trade-offs, and an agility to adapt to shifting technical landscapes.
- Ownership & Quality: Take full responsibility for leading critical, multi-faceted initiatives, driving everything from initial system design and automated testing strategies to the resolution of complex, high-priority production issues.
- Support & Growth: Actively mentor and grow the capabilities of mid-level and junior engineers within a supportive team environment, while collaborating with Principal-level peers to advance your own technical leadership trajectory.

Minimum Qualifications
- Academic Qualification: Bachelor's degree or higher in an analytical subject (e.g., Computer Science, Electronic/Software Engineering).
- Core Software Development Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in software development using Java, Python, or C++. The role itself will mostly entail developing microservices in Java.
- System Architecture & Design Leadership: Documented experience leading the high-level system design and architecture of distributed, multi-service ecosystems, including defining cross-team API standards.
- DevOps & CI/CD Strategy: Proven experience designing, configuring, or optimizing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), or infrastructure-as-code strategies for highly available systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Java & Spring Architecture: Deep technical expertise in advanced Java concepts, Spring Boot ecosystem optimizations, and microservices patterns (e.g., event sourcing, CQRS, WebSockets).
- Advanced Testing & Quality Assurance: Hands-on experience establishing automated testing strategies across teams, including contract testing, performance/load testing, and chaos engineering.
- Engineering Mentorship: Demonstrated experience peer-reviewing complex code architectures, onboarding new team members, and formally or informally mentoring mid-level and junior engineers.
- AI-First Engineering Leadership: Practical experience establishing team-wide best practices for using LLM-based engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) for scaffolding, safe refactoring, and test generation.
- Strategic Trade-offs: Ability to clearly communicate and evaluate complex technical trade-offs, manage technical debt, and align engineering decisions with broader business product goals.
