Senior Software Developer
Central London

We are working with a specialist sports data and trading business that is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join its growing engineering team.
You will work on complex, high-performance systems that process live data and support sophisticated pricing and modelling capabilities. This is a hands-on position offering ownership across technical design, development, deployment, and production support.
The Role
- Design and develop reliable software for real-time, low-latency environments
- Build production systems using Java and Python
- Work closely with quantitative, data, and engineering teams
- Improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of existing applications
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle
- Use AI tools to improve development processes and support the construction of models
- Take ownership of complex technical problems from initial design through to production

What We Are Looking For
- Strong commercial software engineering experience
- Good proficiency in both Java and Python
- Expert-level knowledge is not required across both languages, but one should be your main language
- Experience building low-latency, real-time, or event-driven systems
- Experience working with high volumes of live data
- Practical experience using AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, Cursor, or similar
- Strong knowledge of software design, testing, and production support
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of technical delivery
