Senior Software Engineering Practitioner
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Practitioner with strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience embedding modern engineering practices within development teams. The ideal candidate should have proven expertise in code refactoring, unit testing, peer reviews, code quality, and maintainability, with a focus on delivering clean, scalable, and robust software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work embedded in priority squads on live backlog items, modelling modern engineering practice.
- Lead by example on refactoring, unit test adoption, peer review and maintainability.
- Pair and mob with client engineers to build durable internal capability.
- Contribute reusable examples, patterns and playbook content from real squad work.
- Evidence adoption through code quality metrics, test coverage and standards uptake.
- Support independence tests confirming squads can sustain practices unaided.

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with 7+ years commercial experience.
- Experience modernising legacy systems incrementally.
- C++ where applicable; C#, Java, Python, SQL and scripting capability.
- Automated test integration, code quality tooling and peer review workflows.
- Demonstrable coaching of product squads through live delivery.
