Position Description
CGI is looking for a Senior Solution Architect to shape the technical direction of major public and private sector digital transformation programmes. Working closely with client and CGI teams, you’ll turn strategic business needs into secure, scalable and resilient solutions that deliver lasting outcomes. You’ll take ownership of high-level architecture, influence critical technology decisions and bring creative thinking to complex integration and transformation challenges. As a trusted technical leader, you’ll connect business and technology stakeholders, guide multidisciplinary teams and help ensure solutions move successfully from design through delivery.
You’ll be supported by CGI’s collaborative community of experts while building your career across future client engagements and transformation programmes throughout the UK.
CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a client-facing role, requiring regular attendance in Belfast, typically 1–2 days per week. Depending on the assignment, you may also be required to attend other CGI or client locations across the UK.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this client-facing role, you will lead the technical solution architecture for a complex, business-led digital transformation programme. You’ll work closely with client stakeholders, transformation teams and CGI delivery specialists to translate strategic objectives into robust architectural designs. You will take ownership of high-level designs, ensuring solutions are secure by design, scalable, resilient and capable of progressing successfully through security accreditation, detailed design and Technical Design Authority approval.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
