Job Description
insightsoftware is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to join one of our EMEA pre-sales teams and report directly to the Director of Solution Engineering. This position will handle product demonstrations, pre-sales support, and partner enablement for our tax business unit. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between our sales and post-sales teams, providing expert guidance to prospects on how our products can address their specific business challenges. You do not need to come from a pre-sales background, however you should be confident presenting to clients, have tax accounting expertise, a consulting mindset, and experience mapping customer requirements to software solutions. This is a remote-based role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Technical Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of our tax solution, including features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
- Client Engagement: Collaborate with the sales team to identify client needs and tailor presentations that demonstrate how our solutions can meet those requirements.
- Product Demonstrations: Conduct compelling product demonstrations, highlighting the value and capabilities of our offerings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solution Design & POC Delivery: Collaborate with prospects to design tailored solutions aligned with their business processes and objectives, then own the technical delivery of configured POCs and demos that translate requirements into compelling proof points, accelerating deal closure and establishing customer confidence.
- Proposal Development: Assist in crafting detailed proposals and responses to RFPs, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with prospect needs.
- Feedback Loop: Gather insights from prospect interactions to inform product development and enhance our solutions.
- Webinars and Videos: Participate in webinars as tax subject matter expert, providing demos for webinar topics, and recording general videos for use by marketing and sales teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
