Senior Solutions Architect

Defence & Technology sector (DV Clearance required)

Up to £107 p/h Inside IR35
4 days a week onsite Bristol
Long term contract

We are seeking an experienced DV cleared Senior Solutions Architect to act as a technical authority across large-scale, complex programmes within a highly secure and technically demanding environment.

This is a senior architecture position requiring someone who can operate strategically while maintaining a strong understanding of technology, security and delivery. You will shape solutions across multiple technology domains, influence technical strategy and work closely with senior stakeholders, customers and engineering teams.

We're looking for an experienced architect who can operate confidently at both strategic and technical levels, with a proven track record of designing and delivering secure, integrated solutions.

You'll have:

  • Extensive experience in solution architecture within complex or highly regulated environments.
  • The ability to influence technical strategy and operate as a recognised technical authority.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with senior customers, engineers and leadership teams.
  • A track record of making complex technical decisions and balancing business, customer, security and engineering requirements.

Core Requirements

  • Proven experience in solution architecture across multiple technology domains, including Infrastructure, Applications, Data, Networking and Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise and solution architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF, MODAF or NAF.
  • Advanced understanding of secure system design, cyber security principles and relevant security standards.
  • Experience shaping and delivering architectures within Agile or SAFe environments.
  • Demonstrable experience of mentoring, coaching and providing technical thought leadership within an architecture or engineering community.

Desirable Experience

  • Architecture or industry certifications such as TOGAF, ArchiMate or equivalent.
  • Experience contributing to technology roadmaps, enterprise strategy and transformation programmes.
  • Knowledge of service design, operational transformation and digital modernisation.
  • Exposure to cloud-native architectures, DevSecOps and automation.
  • Experience presenting at technical boards, customer forums or industry conferences.
  • Experience within Defence, Aerospace, Government or other highly regulated environments.
