Senior Solution Architect – Hybrid (circa 2 days a week Office Visit)

Hybrid, with weekly travel to either Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Blackpool or Sheffield

Amber Labs is looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join our fast-growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely, with just two in-office days per week at one of our UK hubs.

You’ll play a critical role in designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions across complex client environments. This is a great opportunity to make a tangible impact within a collaborative and innovative consultancy that champions autonomy, experimentation, and rapid learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end technical solutions that align with client requirements and strategic objectives
  • Provide architectural leadership throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and performant
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers
  • Conduct architectural reviews, assessments, and governance to ensure best practices are followed
  • Maintain alignment with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and regulatory compliance
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Drive innovation by recommending new tools, technologies, or patterns that enhance delivery

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect within Public Sector environments
  • Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Solid understanding of data architecture, security principles, and DevOps practices
  • Demonstrable experience with enterprise-scale systems and modern software engineering practices
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
