Senior Solution Architect
An established financial services organisation is currently recruiting a Senior Solution Architect to join its technology architecture team.
The Senior Solution Architect will help shape the architecture roadmap for core banking systems, provide senior technical leadership and ensure change initiatives align with agreed architecture standards, governance requirements and the organisation’s wider technology strategy. You will work across technology, programme teams, senior stakeholders and third-party suppliers, reviewing solution designs and helping ensure they integrate effectively into the target architecture.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Solution Architect:
- Help mature and support the design approach for banking systems, ensuring third-party solution designs integrate coherently into the target architecture
- Develop and maintain an integrated view of the technology architecture using repeatable frameworks, reference models and architecture artefacts
- Provide technical oversight and architecture governance across change initiatives, reviewing designs and delivery artefacts for alignment with agreed standards and business needs
- Work with business stakeholders, technology teams and third-party suppliers to define pragmatic solutions and support effective technical decision making
- Contribute to architecture roadmaps, technology assurance processes and the continuous improvement of architecture governance
- Present complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior audiences

Skills Required for the Senior Solution Architect:
- Extensive enterprise architecture experience across information, integration, security and application architecture, with strong technical analysis and design capability
- Strong knowledge of API-centric architecture, microservices, data integration, middleware, messaging technologies and architecture governance
- Experience of architecture frameworks, reference models, architecture repositories and creating high-level design artefacts for technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong leadership, analytical, planning, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to operate credibly with senior stakeholders
- Experience within financial services, banking platforms, Temenos, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 or Dynamics, and relevant architecture or assurance qualifications would be advantageous
