We're looking for an experienced Senior Solutions Architect, Smart Campus to join our Technology team. This is a high-profile opportunity to lead the development of strategic Smart Campus and Connected Infrastructure solutions, including a landmark project within a world-leading life sciences and research environment in Cambridgeshire.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of customer engagement, solution architecture, technology strategy and commercial opportunity development. You'll work directly with senior stakeholders, helping customers translate their ambitions into practical, innovative and commercially viable solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
As a trusted advisor and solution leader, you will:
Lead Customer Discovery & Engagement
- Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and stakeholder interviews.
- Capture business, operational and technical requirements and translate them into solution outcomes.
- Build relationships with senior customer stakeholders, including executive and C-suite audiences.
- Present complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging way.
- Document requirements, assumptions, dependencies, risks and decisions.
Shape Smart Campus Solutions
- Design end-to-end Smart Campus and Connected Infrastructure solutions.
- Define architectures across fibre, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, internet connectivity and network security.
- Develop technology roadmaps, concept designs and phased deployment approaches.
- Evaluate vendor technologies and specialist partner capabilities.
- Ensure solutions are realistic, supportable and aligned with operational and delivery requirements.

Drive Strategic Pursuits & Proposals
- Support major opportunities from initial concept through to proposal submission.
- Create solution scopes, technical responses and customer-facing proposal content.
- Coordinate technical inputs from engineering teams, suppliers and partners.
- Develop high-quality bid documentation, presentations and executive briefings.
- Support business cases, investment papers and customer decision-making processes.
Coordinate Internal & External Stakeholders
- Work closely with Account Management, Engineering, Delivery, Commercial, Finance and Operations teams.
- Align suppliers, consultants and technology partners around solution objectives.
- Provide technical assurance across partner-led workstreams.
- Manage solution risks, dependencies and delivery assumptions throughout the bid lifecycle.
Build the Future Smart Campus Proposition
- Create repeatable frameworks, templates and solution patterns.
- Develop compelling customer narratives around digital infrastructure, operational efficiency and data-enabled environments.
- Capture lessons learned and help enhance Boldyn's Smart Campus offering for future opportunities.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, you'll play a key part in:
- Mobilising a major Smart Campus opportunity in Cambridgeshire.
- Converting customer requirements into compelling, proposal-ready solutions.
- Improving the quality, consistency and repeatability of Smart Campus bids.
- Strengthening Boldyn's consultative presales and solution development capability.
- Developing scalable propositions that can be deployed across multiple strategic opportunities.
About You
We're looking for a commercially aware solutions professional who combines technical credibility with excellent stakeholder management skills.
Essential Experience

- Proven success in senior customer-facing solution architecture, consulting, presales or technical commercial roles.
- Experience within telecommunications, enterprise networking, digital infrastructure, Smart Campus or connected places environments.
- Strong workshop facilitation and requirements gathering skills.
- Experience developing complex technical proposals, scopes of work and customer presentations.
- Ability to operate independently with senior customer and executive stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating internal technical teams, suppliers and specialist partners.
Technical Expertise
You'll have strong knowledge across several of the following areas:
- Fibre and fixed communications infrastructure
- Enterprise networking (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi)
- SD-WAN and internet connectivity
- Network security
- Campus networking and infrastructure
- Solution governance and delivery assurance
- Bid and proposal development
