Senior Solutions Engineer | Oxford | Hybrid | Competitive Salary + benefits
KDR are working with a growing, technology-led organisation looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join their internal technology team.
This is a hands-on solutions role combining technical delivery with consultancy and stakeholder engagement. You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to understand their challenges, explore potential solutions and take those solutions through design and implementation.
The role would suit someone who started their career in technical support or engineering but has since moved beyond traditional support into solution design, project delivery and technology consultancy.
What you’ll do
- Understand the Problem:
- Work directly with stakeholders to understand business challenges, gather requirements and identify where technology can make a difference.
- Design Solutions:
- Turn those requirements into practical technical solutions, considering usability, security, scalability and the wider technology environment.
- Deliver Hands-On:
- Stay close to the technology, taking an active role in configuring, implementing, testing and improving the solutions you design.
- Own Projects:
- Take responsibility for technical projects from initial discovery and requirements through to implementation and handover.
- Consult & Advise:
- Act as a trusted technical partner to teams across the organisation, explaining options, challenging requirements where needed and helping stakeholders make informed technology decisions.
- Automate & Improve:
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes and use scripting, automation and modern tooling to improve how technology is delivered.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
