Job Summary
Applications are invited for the role of Senior Sonographer for Paediatric Ultrasound at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised, and highly motivated expert sonographer to shape the future of paediatric ultrasound within a leading tertiary children's service. The successful candidate will combine advanced clinical practice with leadership responsibilities. You will be responsible for monitoring service performance, maintaining governance standards, supporting staff development, and driving service improvements in line with local and national priorities. Working closely with the Ultrasound Lead Sonographer, Lead clinician for Paediatric Radiology, Lead Radiographer for Paediatrics, Team Managers, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will act as the clinical lead for paediatric ultrasound and help ensure that children and young people receive safe, effective, and compassionate imaging services of the highest quality.

What You Will Bring To The Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Paediatric Sonographer who is passionate about delivering exceptional care and driving excellence within a dedicated paediatric ultrasound service. You will bring advanced clinical expertise, the ability to work autonomously, and confidence in managing complex examinations while providing high-quality diagnostic reports.
You will be an effective communicator and an inspiring leader, committed to supporting and developing sonographers, trainees, and the wider multidisciplinary team. With a strong focus on clinical governance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement, you will play a key role in shaping the future of paediatric ultrasound at Leeds, ensuring the highest standards of care for children, young people, and their families.
