What will I be doing?

As a Senior Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Executive Chef in the smooth and efficient running of the Kitchen. You will help lead and motivate the culinary team while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, service and hygiene expected within a luxury Hilton property.

You will be responsible for supporting the Executive Chef across all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, stock control and ordering, cost control, staff training and supervision.

As a Senior Sous Chef, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Executive Chef in the day-to-day running of the Kitchen
  • Leading, motivating and supervising the kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards
  • Ensuring all food is prepared, cooked and presented to the required quality standards
  • Supporting menu planning and contributing creative ideas to enhance our food offering
  • Monitoring food quality, portion control and presentation
  • Assisting with stock control, ordering and effective management of food costs
  • Ensuring appropriate levels of stock are maintained while minimising waste
  • Training, coaching and developing members of the culinary team
  • Ensuring all kitchen colleagues follow agreed procedures and standards
  • Maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, health and safety at all times
  • Ensuring the Kitchen operates in accordance with all relevant legislation and hotel policies
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure an exceptional guest experience
  • Taking responsibility for the Kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Responding positively and professionally to guest requirements and changing business needs
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient working environment
  • Supporting the delivery of a consistently exceptional culinary experience for our guests

What are we looking for?

Role

A Senior Sous Chef serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef, Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • A genuine passion for food, hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • The ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong team-player mentality with the ability to work collaboratively
  • A flexible approach and the ability to respond positively to changing requirements
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • A strong understanding of food hygiene, health and safety and kitchen best practices
  • Good command of the English language

It Would Be Advantageous If You Have

  • Previous experience working within a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment
  • Experience working within a Hilton or branded hotel environment
  • Experience managing and developing a diverse culinary team
  • Experience with menu planning and food cost management
  • Relevant culinary qualifications
