Financial Crime Analyst

This role supports Pershing’s financial crime framework across its UK, Irish and Channel Islands entities, combining advisory support, monitoring and control oversight. The analyst will respond to financial crime queries from internal stakeholders and external clients, including questions on restricted activity and the application of Pershing’s financial crime controls. The analyst will undertake a range of manual monitoring activities designed to identify transactions or activity that may indicate breaches of internal controls or heightened financial crime risk. The role also supports periodic KYC oversight activity, including the review of documentation obtained by clients to confirm that it meets Pershing’s standards and can be relied upon. In addition to core monitoring and query handling, the role contributes to management information, escalation support and ongoing control enhancement. The analyst will be expected to apply sound judgement and recommend an appropriate course of action for escalation where necessary. The role offers strong development opportunities for an individual looking to build broader financial crime advisory capability and progress over time toward a more senior FCC or MLRO-aligned career path.

Responsibilities

Financial Crime Advisory

  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external queries relating to Pershing’s financial crime controls.
  • Provide timely, clear and well-reasoned guidance on the application of financial crime controls and the permissibility of activity under Pershing’s framework.
  • Engage with clients to obtain information and documentation required to assess alerts, investigate concerns and support issue resolution.
  • Communicate with clients in a professional and controlled manner, including in challenging circumstances, demonstrating resilience, sound judgement and the confidence to deliver firm messages where required.
  • Produce and collate daily and monthly management information to support the oversight and reporting of financial crime risks and controls.
  • Support monthly reviews of client KYC controls and documentation to assess whether Pershing standards and applicable regulatory expectations are met.
  • Contribute to process improvement and control enhancement activity, including development projects designed to strengthen team processes and support the role holder’s progression.
  • Assist with additional financial crime activities and projects as directed by the MLRO.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
