Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy artificial intelligence and automation solutions that accelerate clinical trial data workflows.
  • Build scalable tools that improve document processing, data extraction, and analytical efficiency.
  • Collaborate with quantitative sciences, technology, and innovation teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Translate complex scientific and data challenges into practical, value-driven engineering outcomes.
  • Champion adoption of artificial intelligence technologies through expert guidance and technical leadership.
  • Ensure solutions meet quality, compliance, privacy, and regulatory standards within drug development.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry advancements and contribute to external scientific communities.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, continuous learning, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Essential Requirements:

  • Master's degree or doctorate in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, or related quantitative discipline.
  • Proven experience developing artificial intelligence and automation solutions within a scientific or technical environment.
  • Strong expertise in software engineering best practices, including testing, documentation, deployment, and version control.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python or R, with experience building and deploying production solutions.
  • Specialist knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, large language models, or advanced data science methods.
  • Experience working with large-scale computing environments, databases, cloud platforms, or distributed systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality scientific or technical outcomes in a collaborative environment.

  • Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: £ 57,050.00 - £105,950.00
  • The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.
  • In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
