What You’ll Do

The Field Engineering team at CoreWeave is focused on ensuring every customer running AI workloads at scale enjoys a seamless, reliable, and high-performance experience. We support the backbone of the AI revolution: §

  • Infrastructure across data centers, hardware systems, and customer workloads ensuring operational integrity.
  • Collaboration with internal and external engineering teams to shape product roadmaps and technical direction.

About This Role

As a Specialist Field Engineer – Compute Infrastructure, you will serve as the deep technical expert responsible for orchestrating end-to-end supercomputer deployments for CoreWeave’s most critical customers—from facility/rack design to production-ready, validated infrastructure.

Your Impact

  • Customer Success: Act as the primary technical contact, ensuring high-performance, security-focused solutions for AI-driven compute workloads.
  • Infrastructure Full-Lifecycle Ownership: Oversee design, provisioning, validation, operations, and support, spanning rack level to state-of-the-art supercomputing.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work alongside Data Center Operations, Fleet Operations, Networking, and Product Engineering to align go-live timelines, SLAs, and deliver industry-leading infrastructure.
  • Product & Innovation Drive: Influence roadmap decisions, advocate for product enhancements, and champion new AI architectures across hybrid/multi-cloud environments.

In This Role, You Will

  • Client Advocacy & Onboarding:

    • Establish trust-based technical relationships and a single point of contact for customers.
    • Guide layout and rack design, facilitated proof-of-concepts, and product positioning throughout the enterprise HPC lifecycle.
  • Technology & Operations:

    • Commission & Validate Large-Scale GPU Clusters: Nation, NVIDIA HGX/GB200-class hardware; troubleshoot InfiniBand/RoCE fabric, firmware/BIOS-asset issues, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
    • Operational Models. Define best practices for administering customer bare-metal fleets (e.g., updates, break-fix, networking, security confessed), aligning with Key Performance Indicator-driven SLAs.
    • **inter_collaboration: Partner closely with Data Center Operations, Fleet Operations, Networking, and Product Engineering to ensure on-time deployment milestones.

  • Contract & Governance:

    • Manage and interpret customer-facing scheduling clauses, SLAs, isolation, and support boundaries.
  • Strategy & Innovation:

    • Lead projects to showcase CoreWeave’s differentiating value via tailored customer stipulations.
    • Contribute technical leadership at events, workshops, symposia—driving internal R&D and long-term collaborative product improvement.
    • Stay ahead of AI deployment trends (e.g., Kubernetes, matured omni-cloud architectures) and share insights with cross-functional teams.
  • Creative Collaboration:

    • Act as a virtual member of our HPC and volume compute engineering teams, championing care and innovation.
    • Support product strategy, curate roadmap opportunities, and motivate complex dialogue on AI infrastructure progression.
  • External Engagement:

    • Represent CoreWeave at conferences, technician meetups, or industry discussions as required (occasional travel).

Who You Are

Essential Criteria

  • Degrees or Candidacy:

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
    • Strong hands-on skills as a:
      • Solutions Architect
      • Field Engineer/Technical Account Manager
      • Cloud Infrastructure/Systems Engineer, or HPC Support Specialist.
    • Seven or more years of experience in designing, deploying, and sustaining distributed server clusters, or large-scale GPUs (accelerated bare-metal compute).
  • Specialised Skills:

    • Deep expertise in NVIDIA GPUs (NVIDIA HGX/GB200-class), multi-petaflop investing systems.
    • High-speed networking profundity: Infiniband/RoCE fabrics, NVLink, TCP/IP routing, TCP/IP.
    • Linux administration (RAKL), OS-over-reboot kernel simulation, scripting automation (Ansible/Python).
    • colloquial experience with viable orchestration layers (Kubernetes, Slurm).
  • Practical Experience:

    • Bare-metal provisioning: (e.g., PXE boot, SONiC/Netconf automation).
    • Multi-rack strategy/performance validation, integrity testing, trouble shooting for Accelerators and Topologies (NCCL, ib_sendrecv/BWC testing frameworks).
    • Close collaboration on AI-focused large-scale projects, privately locked environments.
