Salary: £43,150 FTE (Actual Salary: £39,667.04)
Hours: 37.5 – 41 weeks term time.
Location: Inscape House School
DBS Requirement: Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS (provided by the employer)
Join Our Specialist Team
Inscape House School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team supporting children and young people aged 5–19 years with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference by delivering high-quality, evidence-informed speech and language therapy within a specialist educational setting. You will work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, positive behaviour support practitioners and counsellors to help students achieve their full communication potential.
About the Role
As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will independently manage a clinical caseload of students with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs, including those with complex communication profiles and specialist requirements such as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
You will carry out comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualised intervention programmes, monitor progress and provide expert advice to colleagues and families. The role also includes opportunities to supervise junior therapists, deliver staff training and develop an area of clinical specialism within the Speech and Language Therapy service.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage an independent caseload of students with autism and complex communication needs.
- Complete initial and ongoing speech, language and communication assessments.
- Develop and deliver evidence-based intervention programmes tailored to individual needs.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support student outcomes.
- Provide clinical supervision and support to junior Speech and Language Therapists.
- Deliver training, consultation and advice to school staff to promote communication-friendly practice.
- Contribute to the development of clinical policies, procedures and specialist areas of practice.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and outcome measures.
- Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) to ensure practice remains current and evidence informed.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to a safe learning environment for all students.
Essential Requirements
- Degree (or equivalent) in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
- At least two years' post-qualification experience.
- Experience working with children and/or young people with Autism Spectrum Condition.
- Knowledge of current evidence-based speech and language therapy approaches.
- Understanding of autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions
