Senior SQL Developer – Glasgow/Edinburgh (Hybrid) - 56K plus Bonus
Hybrid - 2 days onsite (Central Glasgow or Central Edinburgh), rest of the week working from home
Lorien’s client, a fast-growing, global-reaching SAAS company with a great reputation in their domain, are currently looking to hire a Senior Developer / Senior Software Engineer with strong SQL skills to join their team, help lead from the front, and play a key role in the next stages of the company’s evolution a new version of their core platform and offerings.
This would be a nice fit for someone with proven hands-on SQL and SSRS expertise, a strong grasp of solution configuration, and a previous record of leading technical projects as a key part of a multidisciplinary function.

Key Responsibilities:
- Take the reins as an SME for solution configurations, taking a leading role in the implementation and testing of low-code solutions, and scoping development/testing projects and timelines
- Deliver against overarching business objectives, from translating requirements into designs and solutions, and improving as you and the wider development team work
- Ensuring effective output from the team via mentoring/reviews and signoffs, as well as release validation, and liaising with the rest of the technical function and other teams to keep everyone up to date and align with business goals
- Ensuring Agile working and best practice is woven into the team, keeping aware of new trends and tech to improve as you go, contributing to standups and so on

What they’re looking for:
- Proven track record in Software Development in a similar role
- Demonstrable strong skills across SQL including areas such as data querying, manipulation and performance tuning
- Hands-on SSRS skills
- Strong skills across unit, end-to-end, and acceptance testing
- Ability to lead on technical projects and liaise with staff of varying disciplines
- Ability to mentor internal staff as well as liaise with external representatives
