Senior/Staff Analog Design Engineer

Location: Edinburgh, UK (Hybrid: 2+ days in-office) Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

Cirrus Logic, a market leader in mixed-signal processing, seeks a talented Senior/Staff Analog Design Engineer to drive innovation in audio and power management products. As part of a collaborative team, you will design high-performance, low-power integrated circuits (ICs) in advanced CMOS processes, pushing boundaries in next-generation applications and markets.

For over four decades, Cirrus Logic has thrived on solving complex engineering challenges by cultivating an inclusive, award-winning culture. Join our team and contribute to a dynamic environment where diversity and innovation are central to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop end-to-end mixed-signal solutions, from specification to architecture, design, integration, and production testing.
  • Perform system-level modelling and analysis using MATLAB, Simulink, and Spectre; translate technical requirements into actionable design goals.
  • Design and implement high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits at the transistor level, ensuring performance, robustness, and energy efficiency.
  • Lead design integration, ensuring seamless collaboration between system- and block-level teams while maintaining design cohesion.
  • Direct layout implementation in partnership with layout engineers, optimising for delay, power, and area constraints.
  • Conduct post-layout simulations and iteratively optimise for performance, power consumption, and silicon yield.
  • Perform hands-on silicon validation, including:
    • Debugging prototyping circuits
    • Conducting lab-based testing
    • Driving prototype bring-up and evaluation
  • Support post-silicon activities, including:
    • Validation and characterisation of production-ready ICs
    • Production testing and troubleshooting
  • Benchmark current solutions against market competitors, aligning designs with commercial and reliability constraints.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in engineering, reliability, R&D, and marketing to ensure timely product delivery from concept to mass production.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
