Staff Full Stack Developer
Location: London — 1 day per week onsite
Contract: Inside IR35
Day Rate: £600–£650 per day
Length: 6 months
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Staff Full Stack Developer to join a high-performing product engineering team working on a large-scale web platform.
This is a TypeScript/JavaScript-led role, with a strong focus on TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
The role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, giving you the opportunity to influence architecture, engineering standards, and technical direction across the platform.
What You'll Be Doing
- Building and maintaining modern web applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.
- Developing APIs and backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Working alongside and contributing to existing Scala backend services.
- Providing technical leadership across projects and helping shape platform architecture.
- Making pragmatic decisions around scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Working closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver new features.
- Contributing directly to production code, code reviews, and technical design.
- Mentoring engineers and helping establish good engineering practices.
- Working with cloud infrastructure, primarily AWS.

About You
- 10+ years' commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong, hands-on TypeScript and JavaScript experience.
- Strong experience with React and Node.js.
- Experience building scalable, high-performance web applications and platforms.
- Experience operating at Staff, Principal, or equivalent senior level.
- Strong architecture and system design skills.
- Experience providing technical leadership across teams and complex projects.
- Comfortable working in a polyglot environment; Scala experience is desirable but not essential.
- Good understanding of testing, security, performance, and maintainable software development.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
