Senior Band 6 Staff Nurse Opportunity
About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Band 6 staff nurse to join our team on Horder ward. Horder ward is a twelve-bedded oncology ward providing care for patients undergoing surgery, systemic anti-cancer therapies, radiotherapy, and complex symptom management needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Experienced and Motivated Oncology Nurse: We are looking for an experienced and motivated oncology nurse to join our team.
- Team Support and Coordination: The post requires a willingness and enthusiasm to support the development of a team of nurses and to coordinate a small team of nurses to ensure the needs of our complex patient group are met.
- Self-Motivation and Development: Self-motivation to learn is important. However, you will be supported to develop the competencies required with the engagement of the Trust's learning and development team.
- Educational Opportunities: There is also an opportunity to study at The Royal Marsden Hospital School of Cancer Nursing and Rehabilitation on site at Chelsea, depending on individual requirements and availability.

Job Duties
The Senior Staff Nurse is responsible for:
- Assisting the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse in the management of the clinical environment.
- Managing shifts.
- Taking responsibility for the management and development of a team of employees under the supervision of the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse.
