Are you a Band 6 who would like to progress in your career? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 senior staff nurse to join our friendly and energetic team on Kennaway ward.
Kennaway ward is a 11-bed inpatient adult ward caring for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, and symptom control as part of their cancer journey. We also have a 3 bedded surgical day unit which runs 5 days a week offering day case surgery.
The successful candidate will require excellent interpersonal and clinical skills and enjoy working as part of a team. You will be required to act as a role model for junior members of the team, ensuring care is delivered to a high standard in line with the values of the trust, and supporting them in their own professional development. Whilst also assuming managerial responsibilities for co-ordination of shifts, and supporting the Ward Sister with the management of staff, auditing, incident reporting and be actively involved in recruitment and developing skills as a leader within the Trust.

Role Overview
To coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-led care to patients.
To exercise clinical judgment and decision making about patient needs in terms of long term goals or plans.
To participate fully in the day to day organization and running of clinical trials including the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering a clinical trial and liaison as required with trial sponsors.
