Senior Registered Nurse – Pre-Operative Assessment

Full Time | Clifton Park

Are you an experienced Pre-Operative Assessment Nurse looking for your next step?

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Registered Nurse with strong pre-assessment experience to join our Outpatients team at Clifton Park. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring patients are fully prepared, optimised, and safe for surgery within a high-performing independent hospital environment.

The Role

As a Senior Nurse within our Pre-Operative Assessment pathway, you will take the lead in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred assessments.

You will:

  • Undertake comprehensive pre-operative assessments, identifying and managing clinical risks prior to surgery
  • Work closely with consultants, anaesthetists, and MDT colleagues to ensure patients are optimised for theatre
  • Support the development of pre-assessment processes and pathways to improve outcomes and efficiency
  • Provide leadership and clinical expertise within a fast-paced Outpatient environment
  • Ensure the highest standards of patient safety, dignity, and experience

This is a busy and rewarding role that requires strong clinical judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

What You’ll Bring

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Significant experience in Pre-Operative Assessment (essential)
  • Experience working as a Senior Staff Nurse (Outpatients or Pre-Assessment setting preferred)
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and IT skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
  • A proactive, flexible approach with a positive, team-focused attitude
  • Evidence of continual professional development
  • Experience within independent healthcare is advantageous.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
