Senior & Staff Product Engineers - Tech agnostic, TS, Python, Rust, Go | YC-Backed HealthTech AI start-up, Seed stage | Salary £100-150K base + Equity | London, Hybrid

I’m working with a YC-backed HealthTech company building technology to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing modern healthcare at scale.

Their platform is making healthcare simpler to navigate - helping people find the right care, while giving healthcare organisations better technology to manage demand at scale.

They’re now looking for Senior & Staff Product Engineers to join their high-calibre engineering team in London.

They’re completely language agnostic - whether your background is Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Java/Kotlin or similar, they care far more about exceptional engineering, product thinking and ownership than expertise in one particular stack.

Senior & Staff Product Engineers - Tech agnostic, TS, Python, Rust, Go | YC-Backed HealthTech start-up, Seed stage | Salary £100-150K base + Equity | London, Hybrid

This is genuine product engineering. You’ll work closely with engineering, product and design to take ambiguous problems, understand what users actually need and own solutions from idea through to production.

You’ll have significant autonomy over what gets built, how it’s designed and the technical decisions behind it - working with a small but mighty team of exceptional engineers!

Depending on the problem, that could mean designing a new backend service, building APIs, working with large datasets, shipping user-facing functionality or integrating AI into real healthcare workflows.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own complex product problems end-to-end, from discovery through to production.
  • Build and scale products used in real-world healthcare environments.
  • Design reliable APIs, backend services and distributed systems.
  • Work closely with Product and Design, rather than simply working from predefined tickets.
  • Make pragmatic architectural and technology decisions.
  • Integrate AI/LLMs where they genuinely improve the product.
  • Improve scalability, performance, reliability and developer experience.
  • Help shape engineering standards and technical direction as the company scales.
  • At Staff level, influence engineering beyond your immediate team and raise the technical bar across the organisation.

What they’re looking for | Senior & Staff Product Engineers - Tech agnostic, TS, Python, Rust, Go | YC-Backed HealthTech start-up, Seed stage | Salary £100-150K base + Equity | London, Hybrid

They’re deliberately technology agnostic and care much more about engineering ability, product thinking and ownership.

  • 5+ years of strong software engineering experience, operating at Senior, Lead, Principal or Staff level.
  • Deep expertise in at least one modern language - Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Java/Kotlin etc.
  • Strong backend and systems fundamentals, with the willingness to work across the stack when the product requires it.
  • Experience building and operating high-quality production software at scale.
  • A genuine product engineering mindset - thinking about users, outcomes and trade-offs rather than simply completing tickets.
  • Experience in a start-up, scale-up or similarly high-ownership environment.
  • High standards around code quality, testing, observability, reliability and simplicity.
  • The ability to take an ambiguous problem and independently turn it into a great product.

Experience in HealthTech, FinTech, infrastructure or other complex/high-stakes environments is useful, but absolutely not essential.

The opportunity | Senior & Staff Product Engineers - Tech agnostic, TS, Python, Rust, Go | YC-Backed HealthTech start-up, Seed stage | Salary £100-150K base + Equity | London, Hybrid

  • £150,000+ base salary + meaningful equity
  • Senior & Staff opportunities - tonnes of ownership
  • YC-backed, high-growth HealthTech
  • London - 4 days per week in the office

This should appeal to engineers who want to remain hands-on, solve genuinely difficult technical and product problems, and have significant influence over both the technology and the product being built.

If you’re a strong Product Engineer / Backend Engineer / Full-Stack Engineer from a Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, JVM or similar background, send over an updated CV and I’ll be in touch if I think there could be a strong match. 🙂
