We are growing the team within our Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Centre of Excellence and looking for a Senior Staff Project Technical Lead - Hardware ready to solve complex problems alongside people who know this technology inside out.

The Senior Staff Project Technical Lead - Hardware provides technical direction and leadership across complex engineering projects, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the role is responsible for guiding technical decision-making, aligning stakeholders, and resolving complex design challenges to achieve project objectives.
As both a leader and hands-on contributor, the Technical Lead combines deep technical expertise with a broad systems perspective, driving technical excellence across the project while considering impacts beyond their own area of specialism. The role plays a key part in fostering collaboration, managing technical risks, and ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and effective solutions.
Responsibilities
- Providing technical leadership to a cross functional team, of varying seniority, during the design and development of technical projects. Includes the need to understand and account for requirements outside of Hardware discipline and encompasses the whole Keysight Lifecycle (KLC) Process including concept, requirements capture, planning/estimation, detailed design, implementation, qualification, and end of life.
- Coordinate and provide technical input into Product Management Team against customer requirements.
- Determine technical resource required for project execution.
- Leading design review meetings (including gathering required inputs and completing documentation).
- Determine validation and qualification requirements working closely with Product Verification Team.
- Work with Project Management Organisation to provide technical updates on project progress, monitor risks and execute Project plans and to manage resource contention.
- Make decisions around technical implementation of projects.
- Be an individual contributor within projects in the Hardware aspects of the project.
- Consider inputs from all areas of the business required for product launch (e.g. Operations, Global Services, Supply Chain, Commercial).
- Produce and maintain clear, concise and accurate technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications
Essential
- Honours degree in Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Extensive relevant experience in a similar role (~8+ years) with the ability to add value with limited development.
- Multiple years’ experience working within a structured engineering environment that includes Requirements Analysis/Definition, Design/Implementation, Defect Tracking, and Testing electronic design for product development at a lead level.
- Analog and Digital Electronics proficiency at both system and component level.
- System level design including hard and soft elements.
- Understanding of the software development process and its interdependencies on hardware.
- Understanding of the mechanical design process for electronic packaging.
- Board level electronic circuit design.
- New Product Introduction experience.
- Knowledge of Project management tools and methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise technical reports and project documentation.

Desirable
- Experience in RF electronics or FPGA design.
- Knowledge or practical experience in one or more of the following areas: digital modulation, GNSS, communications theory, signal processing and cryptographic techniques.
- Experience using MATLAB or similar modelling and analysis tools.
