Senior Staff Software Engineer | London | Up to £150K | 5 Days Onsite
We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Staff Software Engineer to join an early-stage, fast-growing startup and build the next generation of AI products.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who has actually built and shipped agentic AI systems into production not simply worked in ML, data science, or AI research.
What you’ll be doing:
- Build and ship AI products end-to-end, from architecture through to production.
- Design and develop agentic AI systems and LLM-powered applications.
- Build robust backend services using Python or TypeScript, with a strong emphasis on async Python.
- Work hands-on with asyncio, coroutines, httpx, AsyncOpenAI, and production-grade error handling.
- Develop scalable systems using modern cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes, serverless and distributed systems.
- Integrate AI products with CRMs, event-driven platforms and external APIs.
- Work directly with customers to understand problems, scope solutions and deliver impactful products.
- Take significant ownership in an early-stage startup environment, where you’ll have a direct influence on the product and technology.

What we’re looking for:
- 4–10 years’ experience in full-stack software engineering, ideally backend-leaning.
- Strong hands-on experience building and shipping AI products and agentic systems.
- Excellent Python or TypeScript skills.
- Strong production experience with async Python, including coroutines, httpx and AsyncOpenAI.
- Experience with Kubernetes, serverless architectures or distributed systems.
- Experience working in an early-stage startup (Series A or earlier).
- Experience with voice AI, event-driven systems, CRM integrations, or similar customer-facing AI applications.
- Comfortable working directly with non-technical customers and translating business problems into technical solutions.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Strong product mindset and the ability to operate with a high degree of ownership.
