As part of their continued growth, they are looking to appoint an exceptional Senior Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership, shape engineering strategy, and drive the architecture of high-volume, consumer-facing backend systems. This is a fully remote-first role, with occasional travel to their Manchester office when required for collaboration, planning sessions, and leadership meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the long-term architecture and technical strategy for distributed backend services, ensuring systems remain highly available, secure, and capable of handling significant consumer traffic.
• Drive initiatives from concept through to delivery, define engineering standards and best practices, remove technical bottlenecks.
• Work closely with product, engineering managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient solutions.
• Guide critical technical discussions, mentor senior engineers, support hiring initiatives, and help foster a collaborative engineering culture focused on continuous improvement.
